Funding opportunities

If you would like to form a partnership with Young Money that will help children and young people learn how to manage their money, meet your corporate social responsibilities and link to your local community, the following areas are examples of current opportunities on offer.

This list of funding opportunities is not exhaustive.  We are always willing to talk to organisations that share our aims and values.  To talk about the ideas listed please contact Anita O'Hara at anita.ohara@y-e.org.uk or 0207 0780735.

My Money Week

My Money Week is the highest profile, and most recognised personal finance education initiative in England with the potential to reach all primary, secondary and special schools and to touch the lives and improve the prospects of all young people.  It takes place in June each year.  My Money Week provides age specific resources and activities to inspire students and teachers to get to grips with the practicalities of managing their money.  Read more about My Money Week and the exciting things on offer to schools.

Centres of Excellence

A Centre of Excellence is a school, a cluster of schools or a local authority that has embraced personal finance education, embedding it and disseminating it in the local community.  Centres of Excellence take personal finance education to a new level so that:

  • All pupils experience lessons and activities in this area
  • There is rigorous assessment
  • Pupils build their financial capability as they move up the school.

This will result in young people leaving school with knowledge, skills and confidence to be able to make informed and independent financial decisions. We are appealing for funding of £18,000 per school or cluster of schools to work intensively and effectively to turn each into a Centre of Excellence - we are looking to support 200 schools. Initial Teacher Training for secondary schools

Getting trainee teachers enthused about personal finance education can result in their inspiring their colleagues and delivering high quality teaching throughout their career.  We aim to work with Teaching Schools to encourage the trainee teachers to make learning  about  money matters an integrated part of their planning and teaching.
