Funder brief:
Santander plc were keen to enter the financial education arena and asked pfeg to investigate and come up with an innovative way to support teachers in the delivery of personal finance education in schools. pfeg spotted an opportunity to develop a resource that was linked to financial capability and entering the world of work, Santander were also keen to be involved in the development of a solution and pfeg developed a range of resources that used Santander employees to talk about the world of work and personal finance in order to bring the resource to life and set it in a real life context.

The resulting resource is made up of Word and PDF topic outlines and resources for each level, as well as a standalone unit on money, customers and business. The scenario covered in each topic is introduced by a hand-drawn animation, and the resource was supplemented with talking heads films of Santander staff talking about real life subjects such as moving abroad, financial difficulties, corporate social responsibility etc. The resources are designed to be used flexibly and adapted by teachers.
