CPD Training- Enterprising Teaching

Enabling secondary teachers to deliver effective and engaging enterprise education across the curriculum

This session focuses on the eight core competencies of enterprise, and how these can be integrated and delivered effectively within current teaching and learning. These competencies, which include areas such as problem solving, resilience, communication and team work are crucial in the preparation of young people for future life and work. This session will explore ways in which such competencies can be drawn out through everyday subject teaching, rather than standalone sessions, as well as showcasing best practice examples and providing tools to support ongoing development within your school.

Aiming to enable secondary teachers to create a coherent programme of enterprise education which supports students to develop skills and competencies in preparation for future employment, education or training through:

  • Increasing understanding of the role of enterprise education, including how and why it is relevant to the young people you work with
  • Knowing where enterprise education fits within the secondary curriculum
  • Considering how an Enterprise Planning Framework can be used to plan and evaluate effective delivery
  • Building confidence in developing appropriate curriculum, and extra-curricular, progression routes for students
  • Knowing where to find resources and further support to aid your development of enterprise and careers education

We are currently developing a brand new teacher training workshop which will support primary teachers to create a coherent programme of enterprise education:
